Program Goals:

What did MYS decide to do and Why?

During this unprecedented time, Marlboro Youth Soccer had to make a difficult decision to not offer a MYS run Fall, 2020 Season.  The truth is, the amount of ever changing logistical challenges associated with the CovId Pandemic exceed our capabilities as a Volunteer Youth Organization. However, our summer survey made us aware that some families wanted some kind of soccer this Fall.  Therefore, MYS identified two partners, Marlboro Forekicks and the Boston Bolts, who can both offer some sort of activities for our community and have the same priorities as MYS.  Over the last 6-8 weeks, we have worked on the financial and logistical aspects, all while keeping an eye on the ever changing state and city wide regulations.  We had 3 joint Priorities...

Prioritize Flexibility.  We split the standard 10 week program into two 5 week programs and are offering a mini 2 week free session.  We also take a break for the opening two weeks of school, in order to minimize additional pressures for families.

Prioritize Safety.  Both of our partners follow all state and local covid guidelines, and provide their own liability insurances and cancellation policies.

Prioritize Affordability.  Both partners have discounted their public rates and/or waived fees in order to keep things as affordable as possible for our Marboro Community.  Also, both partners are donating back to the MYS Organization in the way of shirts, scholarships, and/or money.  Finally, MYS will ensure any player needing a scholarship can get one, as well as provide $10 off the Spring, 2020 dues, to any player that signs up for at least one program below.

What are these programs?

Kindergarten and Pre-K Program (run by Forekicks Marlboro)
We have worked with Forekicks to utilize their Little Kickers model to offer several varying class slots, with 10 person maximums.  Forekicks has also customized their program offerings exclusively for MYS.  Their COED Kick-off Academy program is designed for boys and girls in Kindergarten and Pre-K (4 and 5 years old) to introduce children to the game of soccer and to develop both their soccer skill and love for the game. Played on Forekick's specially divided synthetic grass fields, this program will have a maximum of 10 players per group to maximize touches on the ball. Each session will consist of 30-40 minutes of age-appropriate skills and drills and 10-20 minutes of scrimmage play.   Each player is provided a shirt and a ball at the beginning of their first session.

Grade 1-8 Program (run by Boston Bolts)
Our Grade 1-8 In-Town and Travel Programs typically involve a practice, a clinic, and a game every week.  Since that is not really possible this Fall, we have worked with the Boston Bolts to provide Focused Soccer Classes at Hillside Field in Marlboro.  The program will involve one 50-70 minute session activity session with soccer balls at players feet.  There will be a 20 person session. per week over the course of the program for each age breakout.  Activities will include general skills sessions, as well as targeted focus sessions, like “Strikers”.

Questions and Answers:

Are my MYS Coaches involved?

No, MYS has decided not to directly offer soccer activities.  That means that your favorite MYS coaches will not be running these sessions.  We hope to reunite everyone in the Spring of 2021.

Where are the classes being held?

The Kindergarten program will be at Marlboro Forekicks indoors in their facility at 219 Forest St, Marlborough, MA 01752.
The Grade 1-8 program will be at Hillside Turf field outdoors at 404 Robin Hill St, Marlborough, MA 01752.

What if classes fill up?

MYS will work with both partners to ensure that we right size the class offerings, based on available slots.  Our goal is not turn anyone away if there is a desire.  If the registration links are full, please send Stefan an email and we will work with our partners to provide further class slots if possible

Are walk ons allowed?

Unfortunately not.  Due to the ongoing Covid Contact Tracing guidelines, all registrants must sign up ahead of time and sign a waiver.

What is the scholarship process if we need financial assistance?

MYS hopes to subsidize as many scholarships as possible, to remove barriers from participation for families, with our goal being never to turn anyone away.  Please contact with the players Name, age, the clinic desired, and details if you are seeking a %50 scholarship or a full 100% scholarship.

What are the CovId policies?

Both Partners have their own policies that comply with Statewide guidelines and regulations. Essentially, they both limit parents to 1 masked parent per player.  All players must wear masks arriving and leaving the sessions and have their mask on their person during the sessions.  Further details are specific to each of our partners and can be found below.

Marlboro Forekicks Policy can be found directly on their home page, as well as within the information section of each class. These sites are respectively:
Forekicks Homepage and Forekicks Registration Info

Boston Bolts Policy is not published directly on their website, but is contained in the below word document that is shared with each registrant prior to the clinics.

What about Insurance / Waivers?

Each Partner has its’ own waiver for all families joining, which explains coverage:

For the KG Program at Forekicks, there is a specific waiver link:
https://www.forekicks.com/marlboro/Shared/OnlineRegistration/index.cfm?fuseaction=login

For the Grade 1-8 program with Boston Bolts; this is included within the registration process and can be found at the registration link.

What is the refund policy?

Once the first paid class begins, there will be no refunds for that session.
